This month we are collecting individual packets of oatmeal for Sufficient Grace. You can drop them off at the church - there is a blue bin just outside Chez’s office.

Sufficient Grace Inc., a registered 501c3, is made up of dedicated volunteers who meet every week to assemble food bags that are distributed through various local schools in Madison, Union, and Clark Counties. Our goal is that no child experience hunger after school when they should be studying or playing.

Each school year 5500 volunteer hours and support are needed to make sure the program runs smoothly. This ensure that food is stocked, packaged and delivered each week for distribution at the end of the school day in time for a snack and later, dinner.

No child is ever turned away. It is important to us that we support all the children in the household, therefore we provide extra bags for students to take home to a younger sibling who isn’t of school age yet. It is our goal to remove the barriers food insecurity can bring so they are better able to focus on school and have every opportunity to succeed. This in turn helps our communities.

It costs $35.00 to send food home with a child for one month. Based on that figure, it will take @ $175,000 per 10-month school year. Your donations of food and/or financial assistance are greatly appreciated. You can make a donation online at www.sufficientgrace2012.org, or drop a check off at the church.

Another way to support Sufficient Grace is to purchase a Bart and Darwin Calendar - see the ad below!

Volunteers meet every Monday at 10:00am to pack food bags. We would love you have you join us.
